Martellotto Wines Introduction

Greetings,

After eating and drinking my way through 48 countries on six continents during my third decade, I stumbled into the wine world in 2004. I began as a broker for a single Argentine portfolio with 18 wines new to the US market. In 2006, I will direct import, distribute, and broker more than 1,200 unique, boutique wines from Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, South Africa, and the US through Martellotto Wines and in conjunction with several partners. Given my penchant for pasta fagioli, the strength and focus of my portfolio will remain gli vini italiani.
I represent several small outstanding importers and domestic wineries. I have access to multiple suppliers because I work independently, and my portfolio is focused on outstanding, boutique producers. I am in constant contact with my suppliers, so I know what is moving, and what they are motivated to sell. This allows me to extend to you the best pricing available, particularly on closeout deals.
Growing interest in handcrafted wines, artisan, and family producers is driving the demand for the wines I represent. With a surfeit of wines to choose from, restaurants are looking to support other small businesses that mirror their own raison d’etre. In addition, on-premise accounts enjoy the luxury of offering distinctive products rarely available on chain store shelves. Off-premise accounts increasingly endorse our wines as staff favorites, thrusting the wines toward their customers: “If you like X…You’ve gotta try this!”
I hope we will be able to work together, and develop a lasting, profitable relationship. Please don’t hesitate to contact me. I am available for any questions or suggestions regarding your wine program, regardless of whether they are my wines or not. I will look forward to working with you and attending to your wine-related needs.

Cheers,

Greg Martellotto
